So this poll from @pollsnatural asked if Supernatural was the most toxic fandom people have been in, and the vast majority of folks said no, so now - based on some fandoms in the replies of that post - I'm curious...

Runners up from the linked poll include Teen Wolf, MCU, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Once Upon a Time, sports RPF, Minecraft YouTube, Dragon Age, Mo Dao Zu Shi, One Direction, a bunch of others, and a few abbreviations I'm not familiar with lmao.

I'm guessing "other" will win this poll - tell me which in the tags! I'm curious if there's any Really Big One I should have included (probably MCU...it was hard to juggle "size/popularity of fandom" with "relative toxicity" like if a fandom is huge it's usually just more toxic in general cause there are the same number of weirdos per capita but way more people overall, ya know?)

the issue with tumblr queers (especially the white ones) is that you understand that fascism is bad, but you refuse to understand how it operates. every 3 years people decry the last fascists and unite under the banner of the new ones. sure, now we all agree transmeds, or aphobes, or terfs, or exorsexists, or panphobes, or any other stupid discourse sides i've forgotten, are all bad people, but when your favourite popular transfem tells you that actually, trans men don't matter because [literally reworded terf shit], you all go wow, i can't believe i never realised this, and the whole thing starts all over again. i wonder, in a year when the baeddels are up on that list, who's going to be next? will it be me? you? i'm trying to do a "first they came for the socialists" thing here but honestly? i don't think it'll happen again. we are literally out of identities right of the G to delegitimize at this point. which is kind of fitting, isn't it? the collapse of fascism is always when there's no more enemies left to fight, nobody left to demonise, no common-threat.

Do you understand how fucking amazing of a grade I could get on an analysis of trauma in Critical Role? On Lou Wilson and Emily Axford's finesse in portraying the heavy expectations and double standards placed on children? On Ylfa Snorgelsson's relationship to death? On the journey of a man's relationship to violence? On an analysis of grief in Dimension 20? On the pitfalls of youth? On the dynamic between humanity and religion? On the journey of self-discovery and acceptance? On love in all its forms? On the nature of choice? On everything Brennan Lee Mulligan has to say about capitalism? On the tragedy of im/mortality? On Gerard and Elody's divorce? On the unfeeling and aimless happenstance of the universe? On the role of fate and destiny? I'm not saying it would be easy. I'm saying can you imagine how fucking cool it would have been to turn in 5 pages about a dnd show, feeling good about it?
